Chapter 10

“Well, would you look who finally decided to show up?” Bobbi's sarcasm was clearly felt when Piper walked into Sweetwater Tavern and took a seat at the bar.

“I'm ten minutes late and you're tripping. Geez, woman, you're not supposed to be this wound up if you're getting worked out on the regular. I’m going to tell Neal that he needs to swing that dick a little harder so your hyper ass can simmer down.”

“First, I am not wound up, I'm just pointing out that your smart-mouthed ass is late, yet you’re the same one who gripes when anybody else is even a second late to anything you plan.” Bobbi rolled her eyes.

“Touché. Though it may be best that I stay away from any serious future decision making skills especially since I wound up giving up my goods to Joshua in my office yesterday. And it was fucking amazing,” Piper said as her shoulders drooped and she stared off into space.

“Wait, say what now?” Bobbi whipped around in her seat so fast, she nearly fell out of her seat.

“Yes, because I know I didn't just hear you correctly?” Both women turned to see Alana take a seat at the bar next to them. “But hold on, because I have a feeling that I’m going to need a drink, or three, to even keep up with this story,” Alana continued as she signaled for the bartender.

“Lala, you and me both,” Bobbi said as she turned around in her chair shaking her head.

Once the bartender left with all of their drink orders, both Bobbi and Alana turned back to Piper, clearly looking for an explanation to the bomb that she’d just dropped on them. After she took a sip of her gin and tonic, Piper sighed and finally told them everything that led up to her and Joshua having sex on her work desk.

“Damn, Piper. You’re screwed, baby girl. What are you going to do now?” Alana asked.

“Act like nothing ever happened.”

“Yeah, right. Not as hard as you loved that man. You can lie to yourself all you want but you can't feed me that bull,” Bobbi glowered at Piper and shook her head.

“Okay, so maybe I can't act like it never happened but it doesn't change anything. I'll never stop loving Joshua but I'm not in love with him anymore. For the first time ever, it was just sex between us and nothing more. My feelings aren't there for him anymore. And nobody was more shocked than me. I was even ashamed that I'd used him, but he did still know exactly where to suck, lick, caress and stoke and I just couldn't resist feeling that kind of pleasure again, if only for the moment. And, though my vibrator’s precise and can quickly get me to that point, there’s nothing like a real life man doing everything at once to make you explode.”

“You got a point there. A seven speed, though extremely powerful, ain’t got nothing on a man,” Alana said as she fanned herself.
